EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE ON FINKLE HILL
Whether it’s unbearable toothache, broken teeth or swelling we have an experienced team ready to care for you. Your emergency dentist will treat the pain straight away and advise if you need to come back for further appointments to treat any underlying problems.
We always see emergency cases on the same day, but it’s better to call as soon as you can. If it’s outside of practice hours, our answerphone message will tell you what to do next. Registered patients will receive priority treatment, but new patients are very welcome too.
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU TODAY
Unbearable tooth ache, with or without swelling
If you’re suffering any kind of tooth pain, don’t ignore it. Tooth pain is often cause by infection, which may require endodontic (root canal) treatment. We will always treat the pain first, then arrange any further appointments, particularly if you need antibiotics. If you have a dental abscess, we may drain this under local anaesthetic.
If a tooth is knocked out, we may be able to re-implant it in the socket. Keep the tooth clean and avoid touching the root. Place it in a clean container covered in milk or your own saliva and bring it to your appointment. If your dentist can’t re-implant it, we’ll discuss tooth replacement options, such as dental implants, bridgework or a denture.
Even minor chips and cracks in teeth should be treated promptly, to prevent infection getting into your tooth. Depending on the size, location, and nature of the breakage, we may use composite material (white filling material), a crown, or a veneer to repair it.
